Jamie Foxx is back. The multitalented entertainer has released “Somebody,” his first official single in over a decade, via Foxxhole Productions.

On the soul-stirring track, Foxx yearns to find someone to fill a void left by heartbreak. “Can somebody find somebody to get this somebody off my mind?” he sings.’

Foxx co-wrote and co-produced it with Jermaine Carter, Wade Albert Branch III and Sam Pounds.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for the love and support… my single is out now… just in time for Valentine’s Day….,” Foxx wrote on Facebook.

He continued, “This is the music I’ve always wanted to do….. and in order to achieve it, I had to go to the independent route… and it feels good… if you hadn’t gotten a chance to check it out… please do….”

Foxx announced his musical return in an Instagram post shared Jan. 29. “Bout that time #somebody,” he said to his 17 million followers.

“Somebody” is the follow-up to Foxx’s fifth album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, released in 2015 via RCA Records. The album included the Chris Brown-assisted single “You Changed Me” and the Wale-featured banger “Like a Drum.”

In 2025, Foxx was honored with the Ultimate Icon Award at the BET Awards, alongside Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin and Snoop Dogg. In his acceptance speech, the “Unpredictable” singer got emotional as he reflected on his 2023 health scare.

“I’ve got to be honest, when I saw the memoriam… I was like, man, that could’ve been me,” said Foxx. “I don’t know why I went through what I went through, but I know my second chance, I’m not going to turn down. I have so much love to give.”

He also expressed gratitude to everyone for their support during his recovery and gave a heartfelt thanks to his daughter, Corinne, for being by his side.
